that was the private message sent to staff of the poconos manor inn via a note posted to the inside of a kitchen door after a blackout due to extremely dangerous winds and even crankier guests. it was a slow-swinging door, so we could read it clearly from our table every time a waiter or waitress left the kitchen.

luckily there was a generator, so we got back electricity, but there was no heat, cable went out and all activities were cancelled. not something you wanna hear w/ three kids looking for a good time. plus, the arcade was lacking in the "fun" department. still, we made the most of it and made it out alive.

if this blog doesn't get updated by thursday...

call the calvary and send 'em up to the poconos -- that means were still stranded at the pocono manor inn. too much snow. too much wind. not enough electricity. no activities. but, they do have a bar that serves guinness, so i've got that going for me, which is nice.

my holiday present to myself

this was a movie that my parents took us to see when we were really young (i must've been 5 or 6). all i could remember was an armpit killer, the song "toot-toot-tootsie" and what i thought was marilyn monroe (maybe jean harlow?). it's amazing what you can find on the internet w/ such little information.

another christmas morning is done

presents have been open for more than a couple hours now. the putch is knee-deep in her DS games and i've got my new purple earbuds in and listening to this song as i tippy-type away. merry x-mas again to y'all that celebrate.

LOVE this movie. it was one of the films i studied in my "hitchcock" class at queens college, around 1990 or so. i'm not posting parts 2->11, but you can follow along on your own pretty darn easily.

hello, winter break.

finished my final at 3:18pm this afternoon. no A on this test, but i definitely passed the class. that means i've got one class left next semester till i graduate (20 years later than originally planned).

life is good... at least until "spring 2011" begins on friday, january 28th.

instead of reading my notes, what am i doing?

yeah, i should be studying for my final today, but this train-wreck of a musical number from "the music man" just popped into my head out of nowhere. shipoopi, all.

wolf's bar mitzvah weekend

back from my nephew wolf's bar mitzvah in CT -- he beyond rocked and we were all truly impressed. had a great time w/ all of my relatives this weekend. it's an incredible thing when we're all together.
