some things are better left in the past

so, while we were all on a muppets high, we tried to watch "emmet otter's jug-band christmas" on netflix.  well, that didn't go off so well.  we couldn't get past the first ten minutes before the kids were complaining that it was slow & boring (which it was).

i haven't seen "emmet" since it was on HBO when i was a kid.  & i remembered it being so much better than it was.

oh well, sometimes you just can't go back.  well, maybe a little w/ this clip, but really that's it...

all hail the hobo king

never watched an episode of "how i met your mother" & was not a big fan of that "sarah marshall" movie, but dang-boy-howdy, do i ever have a silly crush on jason segel now after taking claire & her friends to see "the muppets" movie.  so freaking clever & funny -- did not expect that.

a wee smidge behind

the turkey just went into the oven.  that's about two hours later than expected.  so, let's see... if it's s'posed to cook for 4-1/2 hours, which means 5+... well, we'll be skipping the matinee & seeing an evening showing of the new "muppets" movie.

on to watching some of the parade on TV w/ the family & prepping the rest of the food while the bird cooks.  (and yes, carl, you were right... those crowds would've been torture if we went into the city to see the parade.)

hmm... is it too early for nachos?
