This is a bunch of rambling nothingness that's more for my own amusement than anything else. If you've stumbled upon this blog by accident, I apologize now.

my sunday morning
listening to breakfast w/ the beatles & getting ready to pick-up my nephew's new 3DS this morning. silly me, i pre-ordered it when i was at the broadway mall in hicksville, LI, so now i gotta drive out there to get it. nope, i couldn't do this at the gamestop on 71st/continental and just walk on over. noo... that would've been too easy and made sense.

two months and change till graduation... i hope
took my astronomy midterm today. wowzer, those 60 multiple choice questions were rough on me. luckily, my professor is grading on a bell curve and i didn't see anyone walk out of the lecture hall feeling confident that they passed. see, this is definitely not one of those "kitti-is-going-to-kvetch-about-a-test-and-still-get-an-A" moments (which i admit, has been 99.8% of the time) -- i've flunked all but one pop quiz and i scored in the 30's on the online practice exams.
we'll find out the damage on friday when the tests are returned.
till then... pray for mojo.

my broadway bound baby
these photos were taken from claire's performance yesterday in "bye bye birdie" w/ the marathon little theater group in douglaston, queens (thanks, elisa). even w/ a little costume malfunction w/ her hair-ribbons, claire rocked it.
okay, enough of me kvelling about the putch. i've got to go back to studying for my astronomy midterm.

RIP, sir black-a-lot
[imagine a picture of a black mystery snail here]
claire's pet snail sir black-a-lot passed away shortly after apple on st. patrick's day. woulda posted this sooner, but well, i'm not one to be that timely on this blog.
and in other pet news: dynamite the betta fish is enjoying her new, bigger tank.

unofficial rite of passage for all middle-aged women
went to my first bon jovi concert this evening w/ my good friend eileen fee-now-lannon and i must admit, had me a dang good time. see, i never would have classified myself as a bon jovi fan, plus we were in the very last row, rear stage, so i did not know what to expect.
the crowd definitely had a mix of all ages (we even saw some kids w/ their parents), but mostly it consisted of obsessive, middle-aged female fans. the way they sang along w/ every song while they waved their arms in unison was rather cult-like -- never experienced that before and i've been to my share of concerts.
and interesting little tidbit of information: it was 27 years ago that "runaway" was released -- same year i met eileen in high school during gym line-up.
(eileen, i love you.)

a tear welled in my eye
claire took out three MAD magazines from the library today.
that's my girl.
that's my girl.
happy birthday, dr. seuss
though i found sam's relentless hounding for the one-with-no-name to eat green eggs & ham kind of annoying, i would read this book over and over again all the time as a kid.
"one fish, two fish" was -- and still is -- my favorite.
