weekend sleepover at gramma's

i am my own science experiment

totally forgot that the second main ingredient in rugelach is finely-chopped walnuts until after a trip to max & mina's on main street for a scoop of their rugelach ice cream, which was really dang good.

it's been about 30 minutes since and, so far, my tongue is tingling. may that be the extent of it.

oh, and my genius move to start eating those honey & sesame seed candies b/c i can't have chocolate... yeah, well, it turns out, sesame seeds are on my "no" list, too.

yeesh.

[update: following morning and my tongue still feels a bit tingly, but nothing worse. i can deal w/ that.]

goodbye to my stories

oh, the memories. watching "all my children" and "one life to live" for the first time w/ my gramma and sister in florida. cutting high school and hanging outside of the AMC studio and getting autographs. and so on.

sure, i haven't watched in years, decades perhaps, but hearing they got cancelled broke my heart a little bit.
