just heard back from the advisement office of queens college who contacted the registrar's office and got confirmation from them that i can graduate this semester.

phew.

so glad i followed-up on this and didn't give up. not that i don't enjoy being a college student at 40+ years old, but i'm ready to move on.

just found out this morning that i won't be graduating this semester as planned. turns out the advisement office advised me incorrectly a couple of years ago when they said i didn't need to take any of the required writing-intensive courses b/c i originally matriculated back in '89. well, it turns out, that only would've counted if i was continuously going since then, but i wasn't (i left queens college in '93 and re-entered in '08).

so now i've got to take TWO of these facakta writing-intensive courses in order to graduate. what a frickin' bummer.

valentine's day cupcakes for claire's class

spiked another two boxes of cake mix and put 36 cookies-n-creme cupcakes in the oven. should be done in about 15 or so minutes. decorating them will be limited b/c there're no oreo's left in the apartment -- and no offense to the putch and her classmates, but i'm not schlepping out to get 'em now. i'll do whipped cream or chocolate frosting w/ chocolate sprinkles. nothing original, but it'll work.

dang me for not buying those conversation hearts earlier this week when i saw them. that'd be really cute to use. i may just trek out for those.

(hahaha... lookit me, talking cupcakes. ten years ago i'd be writing about who knows what else. sometimes it's good to get older. not all the time, but some of the time.)

gonna make 36+ cupcakes for claire's birthday/chinese new year celebration at her school tomorrow.

in honor of both, i'm making yellow cupcakes w/ whipped cream frosting and red sprinkles. and to make it easy on me, i'm just spiking two boxes of cake mix and frosting out of the container.

(update: 8:37pm... just remembered that i still need to frost the cupcakes -- they've been cooling since about 1 this afternoon. been so preoccupied w/ other stuff. i'll get to it shortly.)
